Actual active installs Premium feature

WordPress is keeping actual numbers under the hood and provides only rounded numbers (like 400k+ active installs).
But with one of the recent updates to public WP API active install growth metric was introduced. In combination with historical data that wpMetrics collects, it opens an opportunity to calculate the actual number of active installs.
You can find more details about the approach in the following blog post: How to Get the Actual Number of Active Installs of Your WordPress Plugin.
Please note, that actual active installs can't be instantly available.
To calculate actual active installs based on the growth we need to track the date when the number of active installs was changed (e.g. from 3k to 4k). So, if your plugin was registered on wpMetrics only for a short period of time, this number can be unavailable. After some growth or drop of active installs were detected for your plugin then you will see the actual numbers.

Historical active installs Premium feature

WordPress doesn't provide API to get historical data for active installs. But wpMetrics is collecting that data from the first day your plugin is registered and present that data on the downloads chart (green area).

Top versions

Shows the percentage breakdown of the currently used versions of your plugin.

Downloads chart

The following data is available on the downloads chart:

  1. Historical downloads (blue line)
  2. Historical downloads for the comparison period (light blue line)
  3. Historical active installs (green area) - requires a premium subscription
  4. Released versions - usually, when the new version is released there is a high number of downloads

There is an option to change the date range for the chart using the dropdown at the top right corner.
